70% IGST Refund “Stuck” Due to Flawed Information

The Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC) said that around 70% of the IGST refunds are stuck in the system because the majority of exporters have submitted erroneous details. As a result, they have been asked to correct the details and submit the same in the final returns next month.
CBEC said that as per the data, only around 32% of the GSTR 1/Table 6A records were transmitted to the customs from GSTN. This means around 70% of the refund claims are stuck because of the exporters making mistakes when filing their returns, or because of the lack of enough information.
