91% of India’s Adults Have Wealth Below ₹730,000: Report
November 10, 2018
A recent study by Credit Suisse reveals that there is a huge disparity between India’s status as the world’s growing economy and the actual financial status of its adult population.
Although India is ranked 6 in terms of ultra-rich population, the people that come under the base-tier wealth i.e. less than $10,000 or ₹730,000 make for 91% of the total population. In China, only 28.4% of the population comes under this category. Additionally, the mean wealth of an adult in India is $7,020, and that in China is $47,810.
