Alleged Rs. 3,200 cr Income Tax Scam Emerges on Surface

As per a recent report by the national daily The Times of India, the Income Tax department has identified around Rs. 3,200 crores worth of unpaid tax with 447 companies. These companies had allegedly used the tax deducted from their employee’s salaries for their business operations.
The report said that the taxmen have already issued warrants against some of the alleged firms, and these will be prosecuted under Section 276 B of the Indian Penal Code.
