Allowing for Tax-Free e-Transmissions Costing India 500 mn USD a Year

According to the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), India is losing around 500 million USD per year for not taxing electronic transmissions.  It released a paper in which it said that as much as 8 billion USD is lost in taxes per year concerning e-transmissions and some of the top countries in this category include China, Thailand, Mexico, Pakistan, and India.

The study is based on 49 products that are traded both in physical and digital form including eBooks, software, and music.
