As Big Banks Limit Hiring, Regional Rural Banks Prepare to Offer 15,500 Jobs

While the state-run banks have gone slow on the recruitments, thanks to the financial strains of bad loans, the burden of job offerings has fallen into the realm of the regional rural banks.
According to the banking officials, the regional banks will offer about 15,500 jobs this year, the highest in many years. However, the jobs in state-run banks will be limited.
India’s largest lender State Bank of India itself will hire few employees because it already has 15,000 employees in excess due to the mega merger. Other banks are also expected to follow a similar trend.
