Ayushman Bharat: Only a Third of Empanelled Hospitals Accredited

Ayushman Bharat which is regarded as the largest healthcare scheme in the world has some serious issues to resolve. According to the data compiled by the government itself, a large number of branded and accredited hospitals have decided to stay out of the scheme’s ambit. As a result, only a third of hospitals empanelled under the scheme are accredited.
An official said that the government is trying its best to rope in accredited hospitals including offering additional benefits. However, despite all this, the registration rate is low. They said that around 66% of 22,000 empanelled hospitals don’t have any accreditation.
