Bank Branches Losing Charm as Websites Become Popular

According to ET RICS Retail Banking report, more people now prefer going to their bank’s website rather than a brick-and-mortar branch. Thus, while there is a difference of opinion on several aspects regarding the demonetization drive amid the people if there is one thing that has clearly accomplished is making online banking more popular than ever.

As per the report, of the 10,000 respondents that participated in a survey, 40% prefer bank websites for standard transactions against the mere 10% who go to the bank branches for the same.  Overall, 60% prefer digital banking over traditional banking.
