Bullet Train Project: 38.91% Land Acquisition Completed

Railway Minister Piyush Goyal, who was replying to a question in the Lok Sabha said that Indian Railways has acquired 38.91% of the land that’s required for the completion of the Bullet Train project. He said that the government needs 1380 hectare of land for the project, and it’s been able to obtain 537 hectares of it so far.
Goyal said that for the successful execution of the Bullet Train project, a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV), National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) has been set up. He also said that the entity has used ₹2,860 crores from the estimated cost of ₹1,08,000 crores for the project.
