Cab ride aggregator DiDi to Launch Self-Driving Pickup Service in Shanghai

DiDi Chuxing, which is one of the biggest ride-hailing platforms in China is looking to release self-driving vehicles to pick up passengers in Shanghai city under a pilot program.
DiDi’s Chief Technology Officer Zhang Bo was present at the World Artificial Intelligence Conference when he said that the customers living in Shanghai’s Jiading district can decide to be picked by a self-driving vehicle by using the company’s app. However, he clarified that the cars will have human drivers still.
