Cloud Technology to House 72% of Databases by 2022, Says Study

According to Gartner research, nearly 75% of all databases will be shifted to cloud platforms by 2022 and only 5% of them will be left on the premises. This will be mostly due to the popularity of SaaS services, analytics, and databases. It said that organizations are building and launching new applications in the cloud and moving existing products to the same at an exponential rate. It also said that the revenue from worldwide database management system (DBMS) grew 18.4% to 46 billion USD in 2018 and that Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft alone make for 75% of this growth.
