Commerce Ministry Looks to Pushing Exports with E-Commerce

As the government is expected to reform the e-commerce policy, the commerce and e-commerce ministry is looking to increase exports with the help of e-commerce platforms. Officials from the Department of Post and Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) had an informal meeting recently during which a discussion of pushing e-commerce exports was held, sources said.

According to Local circles, as many as 1.2 billion USD worth of goods were sent out from India by 75,000 exporters during the financial year 2018-19.
