Customers not Receiving GST Benefits by Retailers May Soon Get to File Complaints

If a retailer is not offering lower rates on the daily-use products after the GST rate cuts, then a customer can file a complaint against them under the National Anti-Profiteering Authority (NAA).

Last week, finance secretary Hasmukh Adhia had passed on the information to the FMCG companies to make sure that the retailers pass on the GST benefits that are offered to them to their customers by selling products on lower MRPs.

The GST council has set up a four-member committee to receive complaints of undue profiteering under the GST regime.
