UBS India Head Aashish Kamat Resigns

Aashish Kamat, who is the head of the global financial services firm UBS in India, has quit. It’s speculated that his resignation was a result of the Swiss banking giant’s recent change in approach in which it’s looking to house more of its offshoring business in India.

Kamat will be replaced by Herald Egger, who is the head of group corporate services at the bank’s Zurich headquarters.

Sources say that Kamat’s resigning wasn’t unplanned. He had earlier voiced his interest to the senior management regarding pursuing other opportunities.
