Digital Media May Hit 5.1 bn USD-Mark by 2021 After Overtaking Print, Says Report

According to a FICCI-EY report, film entertainment in India is expected to be overtaken by digital media by the end of the year. The latter will also overtake print to reach 5.1 billion USD by 2021, it said.
The report said that digital media which stands at around 2.4 billion USD grew by 42% in 2018. It also said that around 30% of phone time is spent by Indians on the entertainment today.
Today, India has the second-highest number of web users in the world right after China. There are 570 million Internet users in the country and the number is growing at a rate of 13% per year.
