Digitalization helped small businesses gain new customers

Start-ups and MSMEs have been tremendously benefited by digitalization during this pandemic phase as they acquired new clients and expanded transaction with their current clients, as indicated by a review report.

However, a majority of merchants are presently looking for relaxations in proposed e-commerce rules to be outlined by the government, said the report by the community social media platform LocalCircles.

A majority of small companies don’t need any restrictions placed on sales and heavy discount events, it added. “The focus of the rules as per private ventures should be minimize any misleading advertising by platforms on sale offers and if any platform is funding the discounts offered,” it said.

The report proposed if a MSME or startup seller is really offering for discount to MRP by means of an e-commerce platform to liquidate its inventories, the same must not be restricted by any government rules.
