E-commerce platforms have reduced export barriers
The arrival of E-commerce platforms has enabled MSMEs to sell their products across various markets in the nation but has also reduced many of the entry barriers that small enterprises face as they try to enter into the export market.

Abhijit Kamra, Director of Global Trade at Amazon India, said, “After the study of the export system, we realized that the entry barrier was very high. There were challenges across the various segments. So, we decided to use the technology to solve the challenges”.

Highlighting the benefits of e-commerce led exports, Kamra said, “First thing is about market intelligence. If you are doing it offline then you have to research on your own. But in the online exports, data can provide machine learning-based insights to support Indian MSMEs”.

Shanti Srinivasan, MD, Premier Line Linens, said, “There will be a time in any business when sales will become stable and businesses need to look for growth and expansion. People who never shopped online are now beginning to. We are definitely building our team & looking at e-commerce to generate more revenue”.
