E-tailers see huge demand for non-essentials from red zones

E-tailers see a huge demand for non-essential products in the red zones. They are allowed to take orders in red zones in phase 4 of the lockdown. After two months E-tailers are allowed to ship all items in the country.

In the last two months, E-tailers were only allowed to sell daily essentials like grocery and healthcare products during the nationwide lockdown. E-tailers saw an impact on their businesses as the grocery segment records a small part of online sales.

Industry executives said orders were scaling as customers bought apparel, smartphones, and grooming products amongst other items, however, the sector continues to face the problem of availability of confined manpower for warehouses and delivery.
