E-tailers woo Kiranas as retail India set for change
April 24, 2020
Kirana stores account for 80% of the country’s retail sector. E-commerce giants are wooing the Kirana stores. With Amazon starting a new program there is more competition for its rivals.
A day after Facebook and Reliance partnership the e-commerce giant Amazon started a program for local shops and retailers to enroll them on its platform. Meanwhile, B2B start-ups are helping Kiranas to enable online ordering.
Reliance retail is one of India’s largest Omni-channel retailers and it plans to grow this rapidly in the near future. Reliance and many other B2B start-ups and e-commerce firms are chasing Kiranas.
