Electric Vehicles will Reduce Dependency on Oil Imports, Create Jobs: FinMin

Making a case for the government’s electric mobility program, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said that promoting electric vehicles across the country will help create jobs and reduce our dependency on oil imports. He said that it’s a sustainable and profitable solution to the problems caused by vehicles that are powered by fossil fuels.
The Ministry of Finance and the Department of Economic Affairs have signed an agreement under which 15 electric vehicles are deployed for the use of officers under the Finance Ministry. In addition to that, 28 charging stations have also been set up at the North Block.
