Electricity in all Households by the End of this Year, Says Power Minister

Power Minister R K Singh said that he is confident that 100% of households in India will be electrified by the end of December under the Saubhagya scheme.
In July this year, the Union and State Power Ministers decided to achieve the target of 100% household electrification earlier in December 2018 instead of March 2019. Singh said that the target appears to be easily achievable as only 5 million families are left to receive electricity connections. He also said that the consumer base is growing at an impressive rate of 100,000 per day.
