February 14, 2018
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) said that the currency notes of Rs. 500 and Rs. 1,000 from the pre-demonetization period that were returned to the banks by their owners are still being processed for their “arithmetical accuracy and genuineness”.
The central bank said that the process is performed in an “expedited manner” with the help of 59 state of the art Currency Verification and Processing (CVPS) machines.
