Facebook’s “Likes” Counts Might be Hidden Soon

This Tuesday, Facebook said that it might soon stop displaying the number of “likes” that the posts on the platform get. This is aimed at encouraging the users to simply focus on the content rather than the response they get from others in terms of the number of “likes”.

Instagram, which is now owned by Facebook, had earlier announced that it is testing hiding “like” counts and videos in several countries. A similar experiment was conducted by Twitter as well. However, it found that the users engaged less with the tweets when they couldn’t see the numbers.
