Flipkart May Buy Grocery Chain Fresh

According to the sources, Indian e-commerce giant Flipkart is looking to buy domestic grocery chain and has already initiated talks regarding the acquisition.

A report said that there are more than 30 Fresh stores in Bengaluru, and Flipkart’s absorption of the same will allow it to expand its business in the food and grocery business.

Flipkart is now 77% owned by Walmart, a deal that was finalized at around 16 billion USD last year. Since then the international retail giant has been looking to take over Amazon which gives a massive competition to Flipkart in the Indian e-commerce market.
