Free Billing and Accounting Software to be Offered by GSTN to MSMEs

MSMEs that have an annual turnover of up to ₹1.5 crores can now receive free billing and accounting software from the Goods and Services Tax Network (GSTN), the network said. This move will help as many as 80 lakh small businesses across the country.
According to a GSNT statement, the new software will help the businesses manage inventory, prepare account statements and invoices, and create GST returns. Eligible entities can download the software from the “Download” tab of the GST website.
Prakash Kumar, who is the GTSN chief said that the introduction of billing and accounting software will nudge the businesses to move towards a digital system which will improve their efficiency and reduce the compliance burden.
