Government Employees Protest Against Paltry Payments Under New Pension Scheme
Government employees across India are protesting against the new pension scheme that offers barely enough to pay for their expenses after retirement. Retired employees are saying that they can’t even pay their monthly electricity bills with the pension that they are receiving now.

Many government officials are receiving as little as ₹700 although in the old scheme the minimum amount was ₹9,000. Furthermore, they have to contribute 10% of their monthly income which is mandated by the Centre and finally invested in equity shares.
