Government Ponders SEZ Revamping to Boost Employment
Following a report submitted by a high-level committee headed by Bharat Forge Chairman Baba Kalyani a few days ago, the Ministry of Commerce and Finance is considering revamping the Special Economic Zones (SEZs) with an aim to boost manufacturing and increase employment.

Some of the main recommendations for the SEZ revamping include rolling out an incentive scheme for employment and removing the subset clause for SEZs in India. An official confirmed that the government has accepted these recommendations as they are “constructive” and is working to formalize the same as soon as possible.
