Government to Grade Performance of States in Education
Union Human Resource and Development Minister Prakash Javadekar said that that from now onwards, states will be graded based on their performance in education. He said that as many as 70 different parameters will be considered for the process to get a better idea of where each state stands in terms of education.
Javadekar said that rationalization of the curriculum also needs to be done for better learning. One of the steps that will be taken for that is a reduction of curriculum overload. He said that some portion of it will be reduced this year, and by 2021 the entire curriculum will be reduced by half.
