Here’s How Banks Identify Fake Notes Around the World

The central banks across the world use various types of security features to identify the fake currency notes. For instance, RBI introduced a motif of Mangalyaan and the micro letter “RBI” in the new Rs. 500 and Rs, 2,000 currency notes.
Watermarks and monograms are two of the most widely used security features for banknotes in the world. In India, the former is used in the form of Mahatma Gandhi portrait, and the latter is used in more than 300 denominations in 97 currencies. Many notes also use microtext which is a font so small that it can’t be read with naked eyes.
