Pilot Program Launched for “Modicare” Covering 10 Crore Families
A pilot program for the Beneficiary Identification System (BIS) has been launched to cover 10.74 crore poor families eligible for health coverage under Modicare, the National Health Agency (NHA) said.

Health Minister J.P. Nadda said that the BIS will make identification validation easier and make Ayushman Bharat (Modicare) more transparent. It will also make sure that no beneficiary is deprived of the healthcare they deserve.

BIS will authenticate the beneficiaries by pulling the data from Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana (RSBY) and Socio-Economic Caste Census (SECC) following the guidelines of health care scheme.
