India Inc, Government in Shock as RBI Governor Urjit Patel Resigns
The decision of the RBI Governor Urjit Patel to resign, which he announced on December 10, has taken the entire corporate sector by storm. He said he has decided to step down due to personal reasons. However, considering the ongoing rift that he had had with the Central Government for quite some time now, it is speculated that the differences between him and the government was the actual reason that compelled him to take this shocking move.

After Patel’s announcement, many of the industry’s top leaders called it “unexpected”. On the other hand, RBI’s former Governor Raghuram Rajan said that “all Indians should be concerned”.
