India witnessed increase in voice calls during nationwide lockdown

India is witnessing an increase of 15-20% voice calls during nationwide lockdown, as people were connecting with each other.

Tarun Pathak, associate director, mobile services and ecosystems at industry tracker Counterpoint Research said, “People are connecting with each other through voice calls during the tough time”.

Senior Telecom executive said, “Frequency of calls has gone down, but the time spend on per call is increasing”.
