Most Indians Pay for Their Own Medical Expenses: Cigna Survey

About 62% of Indians paid for their own medical expenses in 2016, the 2017 Cigna 360° Well-being Score India report says. It goes on to say that a large number of people in India prefer to pay for their medical bills with their personal savings, and that there is still not enough traction for the insurance covers in the country.

Sandeep Patel, Cigna TTK Health Insurance CEO and MD said that the Cigna 360° Well-being survey shows that India should focus on three main areas: retirement planning, financial stability, and making healthcare more digital.
