Initiative to Support Artisans Launched by Flipkart

In a bid to support craftspersons, weavers, and other artisans in the country, Flipkart has launched Samarth initiative. It looks to support more than 35,000 artisans across the nation by joining hands with 5 not-for-profit organizations.

Flipkart Group CEO Kalyan Krishnamurthy said that India’s economy has been greatly supported by small businesses for centuries. With Samarth, the company looks to help them engage with over 150 million customers, he said.

Walmart-backed Flipkart is still one of the top eCommerce portals in India and claims to have over 1 lakh sellers in its network.
