Kotak Mahindra Bank to Open 100 New Branches This Year

Private sector Kotak Mahindra Bank is looking to open more than 100 branches this financial year to increase its total number of branches to 1,500 from existing 1,391.
The bank’s senior executive president Puneet Kapoor said, at present, the bank has 45% branches in metros, 21% in urban areas, and 34% in semi-urban and rural areas. He said that as per RBI’s rules, if a bank opens a branch in a metro or urban area, then it has to open another one in either semi-urban or rural area as well.
