Maharashtra’s Sujalam Suphalam Drought Model to be Introduced in UP’s Bundelkhand
October 27, 2018
Uttar Pradesh government is working to bring Maharashtra’s drought model Sujalam Suphalam to Bundelkhand to resolve the problem of water scarcity in the region. The state’s Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has already given orders to implement the scheme in Hamirpur and Mahoba districts of the arid zone as a pilot. If the results are positive, then the scheme might be extended to the remaining districts of Bundelkhand.
In Maharashtra, the Sujalam Suphalam Drought Model is supported by NGOs, private firms, and local communities that help tackle the challenges of water scarcity in the state.
