Nasscom Opposes Government’s Decision to Ban Cryptocurrency

The government’s decision to ban all kinds of virtual currencies in India save for those that are backed by the Center itself has drawn flak from the National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM). The information technology industry said that the bank would discourage start-ups that are working on the technology and also impose restrictions on new applications and solutions based on the same. It said that instead, the government should create a risk-based framework that may regulate cryptocurrencies in the country.
