National Telecom Policy Expected to be Ready by End of Year

If all goes well, we may get the new National Telecom Policy(NTP) by the year’s end. The Department of Telecom (DoT) has created multiple working groups to take care of different aspects of the policy and the process has already started.
Just last week, DoT held a meeting with telecom operators, industry associations, and infrastructure providers to lay the foundation of the policy.
The new policy aims at improving the reach of Internet in the entire country with a focus on next-gen technologies such as Internet of Things (IoT) and 5G, data security, etc.
