NBFCs, Digital Transactions Have Their Separate Ombudsman: RBI

Most people know that ombudsman exists for resolving complaints with traditional banks. However, the Non-Banking Financial Companies (NBFCs) and digital transactions have their own separate ombudsman under the RBI norms.

Ombudsman mechanism for standard banks was launched in 2006. However, the same for modern NBFCs was launched in 2018, and that for digital transactions in 2019.

There are 21 ombudsman offices in India today, as disclosed by the central bank itself. You can file your complaints here or send them via email. The process is similar to traditional banking ombudsman.
