New Malware Targets 230 Banking Apps Including SBI, HDFC

IT solutions provider Quick Heal Security Labs has identified a new malware that’s targeting more than 230 banking apps including ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, and SBI bank on the android devices.

The malware, in the form of a fake flash player, tries to access the user’s OTPs and online banking credentials through SMSs or otherwise.

Security experts have advised the users to avoid installing apps from third-party sources and verify app permissions before installing any app including the ones from the official and recognized stores like Google Play.
