New Rs. 100 Notes to be Issued by RBI Soon

The central bank RBI announced that it will soon issue new Rs. 100 currency notes in the Mahatma Gandhi series. However, the old Rs. 100 notes will continue to be legal tender.
The new denomination notes will be printed in lavender color and bear the motif of ”Rani Ki Vav”, a step well based in Gujarat. They will also be marked with raised Mahatma Gandhi portrait in the center, Ashoka Pillar emblem, etc. for the visually impaired. Their dimension will be 66mm x 142mm.
