NHAI Looks to Double Borrowings from National Small Savings Fund

The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) aims at doubling its borrowing from the National Small Savings Fund (NSSF) this year. In the financial year 2018-19, the authority borrowed 20,000 crores from the NSSF.

An official said that the plan is to borrow around ₹40,000 crores from NSSF during FY20 out of the ₹75,000 crores borrowing requirement. More funds in a similar fashion shall be borrowed in the years to come to maintain the momentum of the construction of expressways and highways, they said.
