According to sources, taxi aggregators like Ola and Uber might be ordered to replace as much as 40% of their fleet of cars with their electric counterparts by 2026. This has to do with the government’s ongoing measures for ensuring clean mobility in the country.

Reuters, which went through the records of government meetings said that both Ola and Uber will need to start converting their cars from as early as next year. It said that they need to achieve 2.5% conversion by 2021, 5% by 2022, 10% by 2023, until finally achieving 40% by April 2026.
