Online Video Services Get Money from 10% Users Only, Says Study

According to a study by Counterpoint Technology Market Research, only 10% of the over the top (OTT) users pay for the services today. This goes to show that although the number of people who avail online video streaming services is increasing, only a small portion of them actually pay for the same.

Of more than 4,000 users who participated in the survey, 30% said that they prefer free services and another 30% said that they pay for the services. The remaining respondents said that their friends or families pay for the subscription, or they are using the services under a trial period.
