Over ₹1 trn GST Collected in July In Spite of Reduced SGST and CGST

Goods and Services Tax (GST) collection was above 1 trillion in July mainly on the back of high collection under IGST. However, contributions from CGST and SGST remained low which has posed a challenge for the revenue target for FY20.
GST collection in July was ₹1.02 trillion which is around 2% higher than June during which the collection was ₹99,939 crores. However, it was 5.8% higher than last year during the same period i.e. July as it stood at ₹96,483 crores.
