Wage Code Bill for Minimum Wage Approved by Parliament

This Friday, Parliament approved The Code on Wages Bill, 2019 under which a minimum wage can be issued for the workers in the country. It will also address issues like late disbursal of wages and benefit more than 50 crore workers in the country, Labor Minister Santosh Kumar Gangwar said.
The Bill looks to merge various laws related to bonuses, wages, and other related matters. It was passed in the Rajya Sabha on July 30.
