RBI Survey Says that Housing Affordability Worsened in the Past Four Years

According to a new survey by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), risk-tolerance against housing loans in the banks is increasing as they are becoming comfortable in offering bigger loans against the value.

The Residential Asset Price Monitoring Survey found that the median loan-to-value (LTV) ratio increased from 67.7% in March 2015 to 69.6% in March 2019. This shows that banks have become more risk-tolerant today.
