Record ₹1.06 Trillion Collected in March Under GST, Says Finance Ministry

The Finance Ministry said that the collections from the Goods and Services Tax (GST) clocked at ₹11.77 trillion in FY19 which is higher than the budget estimates. It also said that ₹1.06 trillion of this amount was collected in March 2019 alone which makes it the highest-ever monthly filing under the new tax regime.
The Finance Ministry said that the monthly average of GST collection during FY19 is ₹98,114 crores which is around 9.2% higher than the previous financial year.
