Rising Heat Levels to Cause Loss of 34 Million Jobs in India by 2030

According to a new study by the International Labor Organization, heat stress that arises from climate change will affect work productivity and India is one of the countries that will face the brunt of it.
The report that was released this Monday said that heat stress which results from body heat due to the environment and work conditions will cause productivity loss of 2.2% of total working hours across the world by 2030. It’s equivalent to 80 million full-time jobs. It said that India will make for 5.8% productivity loss of total working hours that translate to around 34 million full-time jobs.
