Rs. 1.5 Lakh For RBI Monetary Policy Committee Per Meeting

According to a recent revelation, members of the RBI Monetary Policy Committee, which bears a huge significance, will be paid Rs. 1.5 lakh for every meeting they are participating in, apart from additional perks such as air travel, etc. However, they are required to observe a silent period of seven days during which they have to keep the policy related updates to themselves.
The monetary policy committee, which will be chaired by the RBI governor himself, will conduct at least 4 meetings per year to discuss policy changes. The six-member committee consists of three members appointed by the center and three by RBI.
