Rs. 20,000 cr Worth of Projects to Boost Ports Capacity

Around 39 projects of combined investment over Rs. 20,000 crores are underway and set to increase the capacity of 12 top ports in India. These are part of 112 port capacity expansion projects that are nearly worth Rs. 70,000 crores. However, for now, only 39 are under implementation as the remaining ones rest in the pipeline and shall be finished within 20 years.
The 12 top ports in India are Mumbai, New Mangalore, Kolkata, Cochin, V O Chidambaranar, Ennore, Kandla, Paradip, Vishakhapatnam, JNPT, and Mormugao.
